Why We Assess for Success vs Assess for Disabilities

“You can assess for success, because parents come to you to help their child succeed.  We are often being asked to identify qualifying conditions for services, so we have to assess for disabilities”, said one frustrated psychologist.

He was right.  At 3D Learner our focus is on helping every student to reach his or her potential.  Identifying disabilities may help students get services from schools.  We help parents to both expedite school based assessments and with referrals to professionals we know, like and trust for assessments for disabilities.  (e.g. On our RTI Trap Page, we provide ways to expedite public and charter school evaluations, while doing the Response to Intervention process and the school-based assessments simultaneously)

When a parent needs a psycho-educational test, we can refer them to a psychologist we know, like and trust — just call us at 561-361-7495 and we can give you options that fit your needs and your budget.

At 3D Learner, we have a 3 tiered process to Assess for Success

1- Our experience with tens of thousands of parents shows us that most smart struggling students have two or three of the following:

  • Most smart struggling kids learn differently — that is, they learn best when he or she sees and experience information and are what we call a visual learner
  • The majority of students we assess have an attention challenge
  • The majority of students we assess have an eye-teaming issue
Smart Struggling Child

Our Assess for Success Process screens for a learning difference, attention, eye-teaming, anxiety and related challenges

We have designed a no cost Assess for Success Assessment that screens for the visual learner and whether the student has an attention and/or eye-teaming issue.  We make this available to every parent — with immediate feedback and the opportunity to discuss the results and their child’s specific strengths and challenges

Many local parents start our Assess for Success Process with the Success Assessment and then come into our office for our Focus Assessment

2-  We offer a Focus Assessment where we assess for your child’s present level of reading comprehension and whether they have an attention, eye-teaming and/or anxiety challenge.  Visit our Focus Assessment page where we show how we assess for attention and eye-teaming issues

Third Grade Retention

Our Focus Assessment that tests for your child’s present reading comprehension level and for attention and eye-teaming issues

3- We also offer a Comprehensive Assess for Success Process that includes the all elements of the Focus Assess and the Structure of Intellect Assessment (R) that assesses for how your child learns best, where your child is strong, where your child struggles, and we provide a strategy session to help you understand your child’s profile, and where we discuss what you can do with your child’s school and we discuss program options.

The two best ways to start our Assess for Success Process are to:

  • Take the Success Assessment with your child, you will get immediate feedback and we can discuss potential next steps
  • Call us at 561-361-7495 to discuss how you can help your child go from Stress to Success in Months Not Years
