Parents, Act NOW!!!

“I have a smart struggling child in 1st grade and I have been told to wait, he will probably outgrow it”, is a line we have heard from many parents with a smart struggling child in kindergarten or first grade.

From the paper Rethinking Learning Disabilities, written by many expects, comes the research that says a child with a word identification problem in 1st grade has almost a 90% chance of becoming a poor reader in 4th grade”.

At 3D Learner, we offer a Focus Assessment that allows you to see the problems and to explore ways you can make the difference.

More schools are raising the red flag that a child is struggling.  In some cases they are suggesting that grade retention is a possibility.  We strongly suggest you take these warnings seriously.

The start of a new year presents an excellent time to review:

  • Do you have a smart struggling child?
  • Is your smart struggling child a lot smarter than present results would indicate
  • Are you aware of your child’s present level of reading comprehension?  Too often schools refer to a student’s reading level, where they are referring to your child’s reading fluency — how well do they read out out loud.  You want to make sure the school tells you what your child’s present level of reading comprehension is – or get that information from people like us
  • Is what your doing yielding the desired results?
  • Would you like more information on how you can help your smart struggling child succeed in months not years?

Note, we have had excellent results with both kindergarten and first grade students including helping:

  • A special education student do so well she later was accepted in the gifted program and is now doing very well in middle school
  • A special education students whose parents were told they would struggle for years, go into first grade well ahead of grade level and do well
  • Other students do far better than anyone expected in public and private schools
  • Students with intellectual disabilities do far better than anyone thought possible

We offer two ways you can learn more about your child:

  • A no cost Success Assessment you can take with your child — you get immediate feedback and a no cost consult
  • An in-office Focus Assessment where we will assess your child’s reading comprehension, attention, eye-teaming and more
