“Learning Center” is what mom had googled. She found an overwhelming number of choices. She found Score at the Top that appeared to focus on high school students. She also found Huntington Learning Center that helps students k to 12, and their focus is on better grades.
Mom wanted to improve her child’s reading comprehension and love for reading.
Then 2 friends told her to go to 3D Learner — both saying 3D Learner is far more than a learning center.
She visited our 3D Learner website, and it all made sense. She took our Success Assessment with her son. Some of his answers, especially on eye-tracking really surprised her. As she completed the test, she picked up the phone and called us. We do see the test results immediately.
Her first comment was, “From answering the questions on the assessment, it seems like you are talking about my son”.
We asked her what her biggest challenges were. She shared the following:
- Reading comprehension was the biggest academic challenge
- Her son, who had liked reading in 1st grade, was now a reluctant reader
Then we asked her about
- Math word problems – and she said this was now a big problem too
- Anxiety and self-esteem – -anxiety was a looming issue with the third grade English Language Assessment really scaring him
- Homework time and stress – she indicated it was now taking 2 to 2.5 hours and sometimes longer — with stress levels increasing
We then asked about her previous experiences.
- She had tried tutors and a couple of other learning centers – both helped with his grades, but not with his comprehension
- She invested in psychological testing They had recommended phonics-based testing and ADHD medication — neither worked

We asked her a few more questions:
- Does your child remember places visited, even from years ago? Yes was the answer
- Does your child learn best when he sees and experiences information? Mom said, “When the work is engaging he does far better”.
- Is your child a lot smarter than present results would indicate? Yes
When she brought her son in for our Focus Assessment, it revealed his reading comprehension was 1.5 years below grade level, his eyes skipped words and lines when reading and he did have an attention issue. When her son was on biofeedback, it also showed his stress level went way up when we even mentioned the third grade English Language Assessment.
Mom was delighted to find a Learning Center that addressed reading comprehension, attention, eye-teaming, and anxiety.
We were able to help her son get a Level 4 on the English Language Assessment. This indicated he was above grade level. We were also able to help him to go from a:
- Reluctant reader to an avid reader
- Student who took over 2 hours to do homework to get it done in less than an hour
- Stressed student to one who was quite happy with who he was
- Good baseball player to an excellent one – what we do improves academic and athletic skills
