A Level 1 or 2 on the Florida Reading FSA Indicates a Reading Comprehension Issue –  Call 561-361-7495 for Help

Getting a Level 1 or 2 on the Language Arts Section of the  Florida Reading FSA often surprises parents whose child is on the Honor Roll.  While there are occasionally cases where a child had a bad day, in the majority of cases, the student’s reading comprehension is often a key issue.  Four other key issues we have seen are:

  • If your child is a smart struggling child — there is a good chance your child learns differently — and is a visual learner, who learns best when he or she sees and experiences information
  • The student skips words and/or lines when reading
  • Student’s lose focus while taking the test — later we will discuss why extra time is not always helpful
  • Anxiety — we have seen student’s whose heart rate jumped from 90 to over 145 when we just mention the Florida Reading FSA

For your information, our expertise is helping the smart struggling child who learns differently and has a combination of eye-teaming, attention and/or anxiety challenges.

Several other considerations:

1- For students scoring a Level 1 or 2 on the third, fourth or fifth grade Florida Reading FSA, there is now a $500 Florida Reading Scholarship.  If your child may qualify, you want to learn more and put yourself on a wait list — since they are still working out the process for applying – click on Florida Reading Scholarship.

We will be providers for this scholarship

2-  In many schools, if your child scored a Level 1 or 2 on the Florida Reading FSA and does not improve their reading comprehension to grade level by the start of school, they will be required to be in remedial reading — and most students dislike this course

If you would like some help, you can either take our Success Assessment with your child, or better yet, call us at 561-361-7495
